Excavation works cause damage to London Underground tunnel

London, United Kingdom

Excavation works to install electrical distribution cables across a construction site caused damage to a reinforced concrete London Underground tunnel.

I was asked to assess the performance of the parties involved against their respective roles and responsibilities and determine the operative cause of damage and apportionment of responsibility.

The findings of this investigation were provided to the solicitors advising the principal contractor to inform their assessment of liability.
